The High Sun / Zvizdan — First Croatian Film in the LUX Prize Selection / Prvi hrvatski film u selekciji Nagrade LUX

THE HIGH SUN / ZVIZDAN, written and directed by Dalibor Matanić, became the first Croatian film selected for the European Parliament’s LUX Film Prize.

The film was included among ten European titles in the official LUX selection, following its world premiere at the Cannes Film Festival, where it won the Jury Prize in the Un Certain Regard section.

Set in 1991, 2001 and 2011, The High Sun tells three stories of forbidden love between young people from two neighbouring villages marked by ethnic conflict and the aftermath of war.

The film was produced by Kinorama, Gustav Film and SEE Film Pro.

THE HIGH SUN / ZVIZDAN is the first film in Matanić’s Trilogy of the Sun, followed by THE DAWN / ZORA.

Smješten u 1991., 2001. i 2011. godinu, Zvizdan kroz tri priče o zabranjenoj ljubavi prati mlade ljude iz dvaju susjednih sela obilježenih etničkim sukobom i posljedicama rata.

Film su proizveli Kinorama, Gustav Film i SEE Film Pro.

ZVIZDAN / THE HIGH SUN prvi je film Matanićeve Trilogije sunca, koju nastavlja ZORA / THE DAWN.
